Book the Next Site Visit While You Finish This One

Homeowners can pick an available time on your business calendar, even when you're busy or closed.

The Growth Engine sends the confirmation and places the visit on your calendar. You check the job details before heading out.

A Homeowner Books at 8 p.m. You See It on Your Calendar.

They open your website, pick Thursday at 10 a.m., and enter the job address.

The visit appears on your calendar. They receive a confirmation. You see the address and job details.

No missed call. No three-message conversation to find a time.

The form may accept a booking outside your service area. Check the address and contact the homeowner before confirming that you can take the job.

The form that books your call with me is the same one Darteno's customers use to book a site visit. Try it the way a homeowner does.

What the Homeowner Books

Online booking books one thing, a site visit at the job address. At the visit, you inspect the work and enter what you find for the final quote, so one booking covers the inspection and the price.

The job itself is yours to schedule. A booked site visit holds your time for the visit only. Once the homeowner signs the final quote, you set the start date and pick the crew.

Your office books a second visit, such as a measurement or a second look, with the same booking form, at a time you agree with the homeowner.

From the Homeowner's Booking to Your Driveway

  1. The homeowner opens the booking form on your website and sees the open days and times.
  2. The homeowner picks a time and enters their name, phone, email, and the job address.
  3. The Growth Engine checks your calendar again at that moment and books the visit.
  4. The homeowner gets a calendar invitation and a confirmation email from your business email address.
  5. You get the visit on your business calendar, at the job address, and the truck screen lists it with your other visits in time order, each with directions.
  6. You check the address and the job, and call or reply to the homeowner if anything needs to change.
Four steps to a booked visit: offer open times, the customer books, confirmation and reminders go out, arrive prepared
The customer books the site visit, and the confirmation goes out on its own.

A visit is booked from the first try, and nobody on your team trades messages to find a time.

What You Get

  • Fewer jobs lost to a missed call: the homeowner books after hours, while you are in a crawl space or under a sink, before they call the next contractor.
  • No double-booked afternoons: only free times appear, and the Growth Engine rechecks the time when the homeowner books.
  • Less office time: your team stops trading calls and texts to settle a visit time.
  • Every visit arrives with an address: the job address goes on the calendar event and the truck screen's visit list, ready for directions.
  • A priced job arrives with its quote: when the homeowner priced the job on your website first, the quote goes out with the confirmation.
  • Your crew schedule stays yours: booking holds visit time only, and you assign crews once the final quote is signed.

Which Times Homeowners Can Book

The booking form shows only times that are free on your business calendar, inside the rules you set.

  • Business hours: each weekday has its own opening and closing time, and a day with no hours takes no bookings.
  • Visit length: each visit fills one block of time, such as an hour.
  • Travel gap: a gap before and after every busy time on your calendar leaves room to drive between jobs.
  • Notice: the earliest time is 24 hours away, so every visit comes with at least a day's notice.
  • How far ahead: homeowners book up to 2 weeks out.

I set each rule with you at setup and change it when your week changes.

Confirmation and Reminder

The moment a visit is booked, the homeowner gets two messages from your business email address. The calendar invitation holds the time and the job address. The confirmation email repeats both and tells them how to reach you.

Accepting the invitation adds the visit to the homeowner's own calendar, which reminds them before you arrive.

When the homeowner priced the job on your website first, the confirmation email carries their quote as a PDF.

When a Time Is Taken

Two homeowners sometimes pick the same time a few seconds apart. The Growth Engine checks your calendar again before it books, so only the first one gets that time. The second homeowner sees a message that the time was just booked, and the form reloads the open times so they pick another.

When the next 2 weeks are full, the booking form asks the homeowner to call you.

Changes and Cancellations

A homeowner who needs a different time replies to the confirmation email or calls you. Their reply reaches your business inbox.

You move or cancel the visit in your calendar. Saving the change sends the homeowner an updated invitation, and a cancelled time opens for booking again right away.

When a homeowner declines the invitation, delete the visit from your calendar to open the time again.

What You Confirm, and Your Calendar

Each visit is confirmed the moment the homeowner books it, with no approval step. Your part is a quick look at the address and the job, and a call when the visit does not fit.

Online booking reads one calendar, your business calendar. Jobs, crew days, and time off block bookings once they are on that calendar. Add anything you keep in a paper diary, a personal calendar, or job software such as Jobber, so the booking form leaves that time out.

  • Own Website Plan: online booking uses your business's Gmail or Outlook account on your own domain name, such as you@yourcompany.ca. If your business email is with another provider, I set up a Gmail or Outlook account on your domain.
  • Pay When Paid Plan: online booking uses a business email account I set up for you on the shared website's domain name.

On both plans, I connect the calendar and email, with permission only to check your open times, book visits, and send booking emails.

Where Each Booking Goes Next

Each booking saves the homeowner's name, phone, email, job address, and visit time to their customer record. The truck screen lists your visits in time order, each with the homeowner's name and one tap for directions.

When the homeowner priced the job on your website before booking, the booking turns that price into a numbered quote. The quote goes to the homeowner and into the Quotes tab of the Growth Engine app, with the contact details from the booking.

After the visit, the Growth Engine sends the updated or final quote, and you mark the quote Advance, Nurture, or Suppress in the app, so every homeowner you visited has a next step.

Common Questions About Contractor Online Booking

Does a booked site visit reserve my crew for the job?

No. The homeowner books a site visit, where you inspect the work for the final quote. Once they sign it, you set the start date and pick the crew.

Do I have to approve each booking?

No. A visit is confirmed the moment the homeowner books it, and it goes straight onto your business calendar. You check the address and the job, and call the homeowner when the visit does not fit.

How do I stop homeowners booking me while I'm on another job?

Put the job on your business calendar. The booking form offers only free times, with a travel gap around each busy one, inside the hours you set.

Can it read my job software's schedule or my personal calendar?

Online booking reads your business Gmail or Outlook calendar. Add jobs and time off from any other calendar or job software to it, and the booking form leaves those times out.

What happens when two homeowners pick the same time?

The Growth Engine checks your calendar again before it books, so the first homeowner gets the time. The second sees a message that the time was just booked, and the form reloads the open times so they pick another.

How does a homeowner cancel or move a visit?

They reply to the confirmation email or call you. You move or delete the visit in your calendar, the homeowner gets the updated invitation, and a freed time opens for booking again.

Does the homeowner get a reminder before the visit?

Yes. Accepting the calendar invitation adds the visit to the homeowner's own calendar, which reminds them before you arrive.

Can homeowners outside my service area book a visit?

Yes. The form takes a booking from any address. You see the job address on every booking, and you call the homeowner when the job is outside your service area.

Can my office book a visit for a homeowner who calls?

Yes. Your team uses the same booking form on your website, so the visit follows the same calendar rules and goes on the same customer record.

Is contractor online booking included in the Growth Engine?

Yes. Online booking is included in both plans. See Growth Engine pricing.
