Contractor Software Pricing: Choose How You Want to Pay

$500 to start, then 6-10% of the jobs I bring you.

If I don't bring you a paying job, I don't get paid.

Want your own branded site instead? That's a flat $1,000 a month.

What you'd pay me on four jobs, on the Shared Regional Website

$9,000 roof · lead came through your Strategic Mind site · you're at 4.6★7% = $630, plus HST
Referral from your brother-in-law$0

Someone who already had your number$0

The fee applies only once the job is paid.

AgencyPaid monthly, whether or not the phone rings.
HomeStarsPaid per lead, whether or not you win the job.
Strategic Mind, shared sitePaid only when a job pays.

Both options give you the website, customer list, phone system, automatic follow-ups, booking, quoting, which-ad-got-you-the-job tracking, and reporting.

The difference is simple:

  1. Shared Regional Website with lower upfront cost, and you pay when you get paid.
  2. Private Website: your own single-page site and branding, running on the same full Growth Engine, for a fixed monthly fee, and yours to keep for a $3,000 buyout if you leave.

Growth Engine is built for companies running 2-10 trucks. If you want the lowest-risk way to start, look at the Shared Regional Website. If you want your own branded site and predictable flat pricing, look at the Private Website.

Every price on this page is in Canadian dollars, plus 13% HST.

Included with Both Options

You're not choosing between two different products. Both give you the same core system:

  • Website built to turn visitors into calls, quotes, and appointments
  • A customer list that keeps every lead and customer in one record
  • Automatic follow-up for missed calls, quotes, invoices, and reviews
  • Online booking and quoting
  • One business phone number that can ring multiple crew members
  • Mobile tools for calls, appointments, job photos, and customer information
  • Content creation, including AI-generated images where you don't have your own (your own photos of your work always produce a stronger result, and you can upload them through the app any time)
  • Multilingual website support, for a business that serves a non-English-speaking community
  • Marketing and lead-source tracking from first visit through paid job
  • Monthly reporting showing where leads and revenue came from

See the individual product pages for the full feature list.

Option 1: Shared Regional Website

Here's what you're actually signing up for:

$500 to Start + 10% of Jobs the System Brings You

Best if you want to grow without taking on another large monthly bill.

  • You pay $500 to launch. After that, I take 10% of jobs the system brings you: a lead the system generates and routes to you through your regional site. That fee becomes payable when your customer pays you.
  • A repeat customer, your own referral, or a call to the number on your truck or sign creates no fee. I only charge on a lead I actually routed to you.
  • If the job doesn't get paid, neither do I. Advertising is included in the percentage instead of appearing as another bill.
  • Your service area is reserved for your company. I don't put another participating contractor from the same trade into the same region.
  • You operate through a regional website built around your trade and local market, which keeps your startup cost low.
  • The regional site's domain and its customer list belong to the shared site, not to you. If you leave, your region is turned off and the customers the site routed to you stay with the site. If you want your own domain and your own customer list, that's the Private Website.
  • The regional site is a shared front door: the brand name a homeowner sees while browsing or searching is the shared one. The moment they call or submit a form, it reaches your business directly: your own phone number, answered under your own company name. The shared brand never sits between you and the customer past that first click.
  • Your region is your area, the first three characters of your postal code, like M4C or L5B. The published rate above is the same for every company on your shared site, wherever their region sits, except a downtown area, which carries an additional markup to account for the higher cost of operating there. I'll confirm that with you before you sign anything.
  • The regional site's reputation is shared, so anyone I bring on needs at least a 4.0 Google rating. One company with bad reviews standing next to the rest costs everyone else the call, not just itself.
  • Your rate steps down as your Google rating climbs: 10% at 4.0-4.1, 9% at 4.2-4.3, 8% at 4.4-4.5, 7% at 4.6-4.7, and 6% at 4.8 and above.
  • New business, no reviews yet? The 4.0 floor doesn't apply until you've got 5. Until then you're in at 10%, the same rate every company starts at.
  • You need to actually offer every service your regional site lists for your trade. The list is fixed for the vertical (one page reused across every company instead of custom copy for each is what keeps this site cheap and fast to launch), and that only works if everyone on it can actually do everything the page says. I may adjust how a service is worded to match the trade's own common practice and current search expectations.
  • If a majority of the companies on your regional site want dedicated paid advertising for it, I'll run it and bill every company on that site a share of the cost (including you if you didn't ask for it). An ad campaign lifts the whole site, not one region on it, so there's no way to charge only the companies who wanted it. I go by majority instead of asking everyone to agree, so one company can't block an investment the rest of the site already wants.

How the Money Moves

  • Your customer's payment goes directly into your own business account. It never passes through mine. I'm not a collection point for your revenue.
  • My percentage is split out of that same transfer and routed directly into my own account, at the same moment your customer pays. Neither of us is waiting on the other to forward funds.
  • If a job is paid in more than one transfer (a deposit followed by a final balance, for example), each payment splits the same way individually, at your current rate, as it clears. I don't wait for the job to be paid in full to take my percentage.
  • Full mechanics, including per-transaction transfer limits, are covered in the FAQ below and in the Terms.

Option 2: Private Website

Here's the same breakdown for this option:

$500 to Start, $1,000 per Month

Best if you want your own branded site and predictable flat pricing, without paying for a large custom build.

  • You pay $500 to launch and $1,000 per month. Advertising is separate.
  • Ads are billed at exactly what Google charges, plus 30% for my time building and running them. $1,000 of ad spend costs you $1,300, and your invoice shows the $1,000 and the $300 as two separate lines.
  • The 30% takes the place of an agency's management fee. I build and run the campaigns with your own job-site photos, and my own reporting follows each ad through to the paid job and shows what visitors did on your site.
  • Your website is a single, focused page under your own domain and branding, built to turn a visitor into a call, quote, or booking. Behind that one page runs everything every option on this page gets: the customer list, phone system, automatic follow-ups, booking, quoting, which-ad-got-you-the-job tracking, and reporting, all keeping one customer record from first visit to final review.
  • My fee covers keeping all of that running, upkeep of your page, and new features as I build them.
  • Extra pages, custom features, and connections to other software are quoted separately.
  • I'll set up and manage your web address, the padlock certificate, and your business email, so your automatic texts and emails land in the inbox, not spam.
  • I'll need accurate information about your company and good photos of your work. Video is optional.
  • Your customer list is yours. If you leave, you get a full export of it, no fee.
  • Your domain is registered in your name from day one. If you leave, I hand you full control of it, no fee.
  • If you leave, the website itself is yours for a buyout of 3 months at your current rate: $3,000 on the $1,000 plan. You get your page's text, design and images as files you can host anywhere. Booking, quoting, the phone system and follow-ups run on Growth Engine, so those stop when you leave (see Terms).

Replace the Patchwork of Apps With One Customer System

You can easily end up with one company running your website, another generating leads, another handling scheduling, another sending review requests, and a spreadsheet trying to connect all of it. I built this because I've seen exactly how that happens.

  • The problem isn't having too few apps. It's that the apps don't know what happened before or what should happen next.
  • A customer calls you. That call creates a record. The appointment, quote, follow-up, invoice, review request, and marketing source stay attached to that same customer.
  • One customer record from the first visit to the final review.

Where Contractors Usually Lose the Job

  • You miss the call while you're working. By the time you call back, the homeowner has already booked another contractor.
  • You send the quote and intend to follow up. Three days become three weeks.
  • The job goes well, but nobody asks for the review while the customer is still thinking about you.

Meanwhile, nobody can tell you whether the customer originally came from Google, an advertisement, a referral, or a page on your website.

I built this system to handle the handoffs that are easiest to miss when you and your crew are busy doing the actual work.

Every Lead That Comes In Is Yours

  • No charge per lead.
  • No charge per booked appointment.
  • No selling the same homeowner to 3 of your competitors and charging all of you for it.
  • No masked phone number sitting between you and your customer.
  • No shared inbox: a lead rings your own business number and is answered under your own company name, whether the homeowner found you on the shared regional site or a private one.

I don't make more money by inventing another charge every time your lead volume grows. Your pricing follows the model you choose above.

Common Questions

How will I know whether this is actually working?

Your monthly report shows where leads came from, calls received and answered, quotes sent, follow-ups completed, jobs booked, and reviews requested.

I want to make performance visible to you instead of asking you to trust vague reports about clicks and impressions.

Do you sell my leads to other companies?

No.

With the Shared Regional Website, your participating service area is exclusive. With the Private Website, every lead belongs to your business alone, and the website itself is yours for a $3,000 buyout if you leave (see Terms).

I don't sell the same homeowner to several contractors.

Do I pay for leads that never become jobs?

There's no per-lead charge with either option.

With the Shared Regional Website, my percentage is based on paid work that started as a lead I routed to you, not on a lead that never converted, and not on your own repeat customers or referrals.

With the Private Website, lead generation and the software platform are covered by the monthly fee, while advertising is billed separately: what Google charges, plus 30% for managing it.

I also track the source of each lead so you can compare which channels produce customers, not merely traffic.

How is this different from a typical marketing agency?

I publish pricing and cancellation terms before you ever talk to me. There are no prepaid lead packages and no per-lead invoices.

More importantly, I connect the marketing to the phone system, customer list, quoting, follow-up, and payments. I can see more than whether an ad produced a click. I can follow that ad all the way through to whether the job got booked and paid.

Why not just use field service apps?

Field service software usually becomes useful after you already have the customer.

This system starts earlier: getting you found, capturing the inquiry, handling missed calls, following up on quotes, and identifying which marketing produced the job.

If you already use field service software that works well, I can work alongside it rather than forcing you to replace it.

How much notice do I need if I want to cancel?

Three months' notice applies to either option. There is no fixed multi-year contract.

If I leave, do I get my customer list back?

On the Private Website, yes. Your customer list is yours, and you get a full export of it when you leave, no fee. Your domain is already registered in your name, and full control of it comes back to you too.

On the Shared Regional Website, no. The customers the shared site routed to you stay with the site, and so does its domain.

What if I don't have time to set this up?

I handle the setup.

I need your service area, accurate information about the company, good photos of your work (I'll use AI-generated images where you don't have your own, though your own photos always work better), and roughly an hour with you to understand how your business operates.

The software should remove administrative work from your day, not create another implementation project for you.

How does the shared website percentage work?

The fee applies only to a job that started as a lead I brought in and sent to you (a call, form, or booking through your regional site). A repeat customer, your own referral, or a call to the number on your truck or sign creates no fee, because I didn't bring you that lead.

On a job that does qualify, the rate starts at 10% of the amount the customer actually pays for the job, at a 4.0-4.1 Google rating, and steps down as your rating climbs: 9% at 4.2-4.3, 8% at 4.4-4.5, 7% at 4.6-4.7, and 6% at 4.8 and above.

The fee becomes payable when you receive payment. A signed quote that falls through before the customer pays doesn't create a fee.

If the job changes through a change order, the percentage is based on the final amount actually paid by the customer.

My business is new. I don't have a Google rating yet, can I still join a regional site?

Yes. The 4.0 rating floor doesn't apply until you've got 5 Google reviews.

Three reviews can swing from every star to none on one customer's mood, not enough to judge a business on. Until you reach 5, you're in at 10%, the same rate every company starts at.

Once you hit 5 reviews, the normal schedule takes over: 4.0 and up to stay on the site, stepping down as your rating climbs.

How does payment actually move, and how do you collect your fee?

Your customer pays by EFT (electronic funds transfer), directly into your own business account. Your revenue never lands in an account of mine first: there's no separate invoice from me to chase down, because I'm never holding your money to begin with.

On the Shared Regional Website, my rate (10% down to 6%, tiered by your Google rating) is split out of that same transfer and routed directly into my own account, at the moment your customer pays.

If a job is paid in more than one EFT (a deposit and a later final balance, for example), each payment splits the same way individually, at your current rate, as it clears. I don't hold off until the job is paid in full.

EFT transfers are capped at $10,000 per transaction. A job priced above that settles as more than one transaction rather than a single transfer.

Are your prices in US dollars?

No. Every price on this page is in Canadian dollars, and 13% HST is added on top, including on the Shared Regional Website percentage.

I'm based in the GTA. Your agreement falls under Ontario law, and a dispute goes to mediation in Toronto (see Terms).

Your customer records are handled under Canada's PIPEDA privacy law (see Privacy).

Are you responsible for insuring my crew, or for my customer actually paying me?

No. On the Shared Regional Website, I'm subcontracted to bring in leads, send them to you, and run the office side of your jobs. The contract for the work itself stays between you and your own customer.

Insuring your own workers, including while they're on a customer's property, and collecting payment from your customer, stay your responsibility as the business performing the work, unchanged from before you used the platform.

Do you mark up advertising spend?

Yes, by 30%. Ads are billed at exactly what Google charges, plus 30% for my time building and running them. $1,000 of ad spend costs you $1,300, and your invoice shows the $1,000 and the $300 as two separate lines.

This applies wherever advertising is billed as its own line item. That means the Private Website, or a Shared Regional Website where a majority of the companies on it vote for paid advertising (see below).

The 30% takes the place of an agency's management fee. I build and run the campaigns with your own job-site photos, and my own reporting follows each ad through to the paid job and shows what visitors did on your site.

Can the company pay for advertising on my regional site even if I didn't ask for it?

Yes. If a majority of the companies participating on your regional site want dedicated paid advertising for it, I'll run it, and every participating company on that site is billed a share of the cost (including a company that didn't ask for it).

An ad campaign runs against the shared site all of you occupy, not against one region on it. There's no way to point it at only the companies who asked and bill just them.

I go by majority instead of requiring everyone to agree, so one company can't block a campaign the rest of the site already wants.

Why There Are No Case Studies Here Yet

I'm new, so I don't yet have contractor case studies or customer reviews to put on this page. I'd rather tell you that straight than dress up unrelated results as proof.

The technology itself is built and running: darteno.com is the first private website live on the platform, and cabinetpros.ca is reserved for the first shared regional site. What's missing isn't the technology. It's a track record with paying customers.

I'm opening a limited number of territories in the Toronto GTA while I reach out to the first contractors to actually run on the platform.

There's no sales team, account-management layer, or commissioned salesperson built into the price. It's just me.

See Progress for exactly where the technology and the business stand today.

Start With a 20-Minute Review of Your Business

Book a time and tell me your business name and service area. Before the call, I'll look at what a homeowner sees when they search for your company.

I'll review things such as your search visibility, Google Business Profile, reviews, website performance, and obvious gaps in the path from search to phone call.

On the call, I'll show you what I found, what I'd change, and which parts you could reasonably fix yourself.

You keep the review whether you become a customer or not.

I keep early-morning and evening slots open because I know the middle of the workday is usually the worst time for you to talk.
